The Marine Exchange of the West Gulf is an organization that provides timely,
accurate information on deep-sea vessel arrivals at the Port of Houston and other West Gulf ports.
The Marine Exchange, established to provide a complete ship reporting service to the maritime industry, is a
subsidiary of the Greater Houston Port Bureau, Inc, was founded in 1929.
Historically, the Marine Exchange of the West Gulf reported deep-sea vessel movement from a lookout station on Morgan's Point. With the advent of AIS (Automatic Identification System) technology, the Marine Exchange is able to offer products with the capability to keep track of vessel movements on the Houston Ship Channel and ports around the country in real-time via the internet.
