Matt Melvin, Assistant General Manager-Import Distribution Center, Walmart Supply Chain

As assistant general manager, Matt Melvin is responsible for solving the most complex problems within the operational environment of supply chain operations at Walmart. Walmart Imports Division is the largest distribution center with over 4.4 million square feet in the network.

In past senior roles, serving in the U.S. Army for 26 years, Melvin has been a logistics subject matter expert with Lean and Six Sigma experience, leading and motivating more than 2,000 staff at a time, administering high-dollar budgets and inventories, reengineering and relaunching key operational systems and procedures, and effectively supporting and briefing C-level executives. He has Master’s degrees in Strategic Studies and Logistics Management, the Logistics Executive Development Course, and the Six Sigma Green Belt Fundamentals Course.
