Event Details

Join us at the Commerce Club luncheon on Thursday, September 14, 2023, with Geoffrey Gauthier, manager of shipping & maritime (US) at Shell Trading (US) Company to learn about opportunities and the challenges to sector decarbonization locally, nationally, and internationally.

Decarbonization and the maritime sector – a conversation on perspectives across the industry

Shipping is the backbone of the global economy and is by far the most efficient mode of freight transport, moving approximately 80% of the world’s trade volume.  However, as the industry’s development continues, it generates increasing carbon emissions from shipping.  This means the shipping sector has a unique role to play – as the backbone of global trade, it is not only a sector that must decarbonize, but also an enabler of global decarbonization.  Making this happen requires collaboration within the shipping industry itself, across the broader shipping ecosystem and with other sectors.

Advanced registration closed. Walk-ins accepted. $10 Convenience fee applies.
