Women in Maritime Happy Hour

We are excited to announce our upcoming Women in Maritime Happy Hour event on November 17, 4:30 – 6:30 PM at the Houston International Seafarers Center.  

Join the Port Bureau and Dana Blume, Executive Director of the Houston International Seafarers Center, for a special networking event for women in the maritime and logistics industry! This free event includes food and drink; however you must register in advance. 

About Dana Blume and the Seafarers Center:

Dana Blume has been executive director for the Houston International Seafarers Center ("HISC or Center") since 2017. The HISC is a ‘home away from home’ for seafarers visiting the Houston port by meeting their spiritual, social and physical needs through support, assistance and fellowship. They visit ships 7 days a week, 365 days a year, securing resources for transportation, various communication service tools, building relationships and providing a safe harbor for all seafarers. 

Chartered in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s as a non-profit organization under the laws of the State of Texas, the Center has served over a million visiting seafarers. The Center exists as the result of a deep desire and concern within the local maritime industry, followed by active support and involvement of the community and local churches, to provide a safe and welcoming recreational and spiritual environment on land for those who have chosen the sea as their livelihood.
