The Port of Brownsville is a deepwater seaport at the southernmost tip of Texas. Opened in 1936, it connects to the Gulf by a 17-mile-long ship channel. With approximately 40,000 acres, the Port is the largest land-owning public port authority in the nation and provides services to facilitate cargo movement between the U.S. and Mexico through multiple transportation modes.
