Exolum Expands U.S Presence with New Marine Fuel Supply Services in Houston Ship Channel

Member Updates,

Exolum has taken a strategic step to strengthen its logistics operations in the United States by launching marine fuel supply services for vessels docked in the Houston Ship Channel, one of the country’s most important maritime arteries. This new service offering is provided through its U.S. subsidiary – VEH – which operates a state-of-the-art marine terminal in Deer Park, Texas.

Previously focused on ammonia and natural gas liquids ("NGL") logistics, VEH is now diversifying its service portfolio to respond to the increasing demand and growing maritime activity in the Gulf region. Thanks to its advanced berthing facilities, vessels can safely dock and carry out fuel supply operations while moored, enhancing efficiency and streamlining fuel logistics for shipping operators.

The terminal’s existing intermodal capabilities are complemented by the new service, which includes vessel and barge unloading at a privately owned deepwater dock, storage, a unit train-capable rail loop, and pipeline connections for land-based transport.

"This service reinforces VEH’s commitment to supporting the growth of maritime operations in the Houston Ship Channel by leveraging our strategic location and well-established logistics capabilities," emphasized Nick Karim, managing director of VEH.

Scheduling and execution of these services are led by Vince Callarman, director of Logistics at VEH.

With this new solution, Exolum aims to meet the rising demand for flexible, safe, and sustainable refuelling alternatives along the U.S. Gulf Coast, while upholding the highest standards of safety and environmental responsibility.
