Member Updates,

Stolt Tankers received the highest number of awards at an annual ceremony recognizing members of the Automated Mutual Vessel Rescue (“AMVER”) program, with 46 of their ships recognized for their rescue efforts in 2022.

The AMVER award ceremony is organized by the American Embassy and the U.S. Coast Guard. The 2023 event took place on November 7 during the Europort conference in Rotterdam.

AMVER is a computer-based, voluntary ship reporting system used worldwide by search and rescue authorities to arrange for assistance to people in distress at sea. Awards are given to vessels that send position reports and are available to divert to a rescue a minimum of 128 days per year. Special AMVER awards are given for dramatic or exceptional rescues.

Forty-six Stolt Tankers ships were recognized at the event and three – Stolt Efficiency, Stolt Invention and Stolt Sypress – received a special globe award for 25 years of consecutive AMVER award eligibility.

Risk Manager Rajesh Fernandes (pictured, center), who attended on behalf of Stolt Tankers, said: "Stolt Tankers is a member of the AMVER program and is committed to supporting its efforts to reward and encourage safety at sea. We are absolutely delighted with the recognition we have received. Congratulations to the crews of all our award-winning ships."
