ExxonMobil to Receive Port Houston’s 4th Annual Lone Star Award at HIMC

Member Updates,

Port Houston will honor ExxonMobil with the 4th Annual Lone Star Award during the Houston International Maritime Conference ("HIMC"), taking place Nov. 2–5 at the Hilton Americas in downtown Houston. The award recognizes ExxonMobil’s exceptional partnership with Port Houston and its longstanding role in the energy industry that is integral to the Houston Ship Channel.

Michael Mustian, President, Supply Chain, ExxonMobil, will accept the award on behalf of the company on November 3 and deliver the luncheon keynote address. The presentation will be a highlight of HIMC, which brings together leaders from across the maritime, energy, and petrochemical sectors for industry insight, discussion, and networking.

“The Houston Ship Channel’s success is built on strong partnerships, and ExxonMobil has long been an important part of the energy and maritime community we serve,” said Charlie Jenkins, CEO of Port Houston. “We are pleased to recognize that relationship with this year’s Lone Star Award and celebrate the company’s longstanding contributions to our region.”

As advocate and strategic leader for the Houston Ship Channel, Port Houston plays a vital role in a trade gateway that is the busiest waterway in the nation, the number one gateway for energy products, number one in steel, number one in resins, and home to the fifth-ranked container port in the U.S. ExxonMobil’s deep connection to Houston’s energy industry and the economic vitality of the Houston Ship Channel make the company a fitting recipient of this year’s Lone Star Award.

The ExxonMobil Baytown Complex is one of the world’s largest and most advanced refining and petrochemical facilities. Since opening in 1920, it has expanded to four manufacturing sites, including a plastics plant in nearby Mont Belvieu, as well as a global technology center—spanning 3,400 acres along the Houston Ship Channel.

The Lone Star Award presentation will be among the highlights of this year’s HIMC program, which will explore the issues and opportunities shaping world trade and maritime operations. Sessions will address Panama Canal developments, the impact of geopolitics on global trade, import and export perspectives, the ocean carrier market, and innovations in resins trade. Beyond the program, HIMC provides an opportunity for executives, policymakers, and industry leaders from around the world to connect and exchange perspectives on the future of global trade.
